Congratulations to Steph Single on taking out the WQS event at Bells Beach. That’s her first win at a QS event and is a great start to her competitive year.
Congratulations Twig on your Big Wave World Tour event win in Spain. After a massive year of preparing and organising for the BWWT, it’s great to get a green light for the comp and see Twig finally get a chance to show what he does. Catching a couple of bombs in the final on his Webster Surfboards 10’0, Twig took out the Punta Galea title with a near perfect score of 29.01 out of 30.
2013 has been great year for me, working closely with Twig in designing and refining his equipment and has lead to some great gun models coming out of our shaping bay, read more about the TWIG model here.
I always got so excited when someone would ask me to make them a 6’10 or 7’6 gun, and I still do. But with the big wave shift moving from tow-in back to paddle-in, I cant believe how many boards I’ve shaped in the 9’0 to 11’6 range this past year. It’s hard work, but i’m loving it. It’s great to have the opportunity to work with some of the top big wave surfers in the world and work on the designs they’re wanting to ride. Bring on the Big Wave World Tour #BWWT.
