Step Up

Napalm

The Napalm loves being surfed hard and fast and is my personal favourite for overhead waves all around the world. This board has no limits. What surfers have enjoyed with this board is the free and forgiving feeling combined with the ability to really put the board on rail and push as hard as you want with no need to hold back. You can pack a lot of volume into this design and it maintains manoeuvrability, drive and control at high speeds. This comes from a slight single to double-concave and a special blended tail rocker that’s been developed with some amazing surfers over a number of years.

Wacko

The Wacko is an extremely diverse design, it can be a one-board quiver. It’s as manoeuvrable as a shortboard with as much bite in good waves as a step-up. Initially designed for barrel-riding, the concept of the board is to keep the overall length down so to be more manoeuvrable but maintain the paddle power and hold of a longer board.  It’s good for wedging, slabbing waves as the short length benefits steeper drops and the pulled-in tail gives it more control at high speed. The Wacko is also a great follow-on as a better wave board for those who ride a wider, high-volume shortboard.

Desert Storm Step Up

The Desert Storm is making a significant impact on step-up board design and is a proven performer in many locations. With hours of collaboration from Camel, The Desert Storm boasts extreme paddle power and maintains the manoeuvrability of a performance step-up through the V double-concave bottom. It has a smooth, consistent rocker keeping the overall speed and momentum to a maximum. The volume is beefed up by the increased outline throughout the board and a flatter deck profile which rolls down late to a standard-feeling rail shape. The thickness in the front extends through to finish off in a beak nose. The Desert Storm’s paddle power is such an advantage for catching the wave of your life.

Speed Freak

The Speed Freak is the model for those looking for a step-up progression from their regular shortboard design. It features added hold and drive and wants to be surfed hard and fast in quality waves. This design includes a slight single to double-concave and an accelerated rocker throughout, creating a fast and responsive board.
